Ingredients
- Pickling onions1 kg
- Dry white wine125 ml
- Water125 ml
- Balsamic vinegar125 ml
- Dark brown sugar125 ml
- Strong mustard powder5 ml
- Saltpinch
- Olive oil15 ml
- Beaten egg1
- Flour15 ml
- Curry leavesa few
- Turmeric2.5 ml
- Capers (kappertjies)2
Method
- Cook the onions in the wine and water until soft.
- Drain and place on a serving platter.
- Mix the remaining ingredients and heat slowly until boiling.
- Pour the sauce over the onions and cool.
Notes
From 2019. To bottle: double the sauce mixture.
