Ingredients
- Onions3
- Paprika5 ml
- Peri peri (3 T if pure SA peri peri)75 ml
- Oil190 ml
- Salt5 ml
- Pepper5 ml
- Mixed herbs5 ml
- Sugar90 ml
- Honey30 ml
- Juice of lemons2
- Zest of lemon1
- Green chilli1
- Red pepper1
- Tinned tomatoes3 tins (±1.2 kg)
- Tomato purée1 tin
- Chopped coriander or basila handful
- Balsamic vinegar15 ml
- Garlic (optional)15 ml
Method
- Fry the onion and red pepper, then add all the other ingredients.
- Cook/simmer for 30 minutes.
- Bottle.
Notes
Use 3 T peri peri instead of 5 T if using pure South African peri peri.
