Ingredients
- Large onions, chopped fine2
- Crushed garlic5 ml
- Water125 ml
- Red wine30 ml
- Chopped tomatoes (or tomato purée/passata)1 tin (400 g)
- Worcester sauce125 ml
- Mrs Balls chutney280 ml
- Tabasco30 ml
- Sugar120 ml
- Vinegar (balsamic is good too)30 ml
- Sherry or red wine60 ml
- Oil, for fryingas needed
Method
- Cook the onions and garlic in a little oil until soft.
- Add the other ingredients.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 30–40 minutes.
