Method

  1. Mix the eggs and sugar.
  2. Mix the flour and baking powder, and add to the egg mixture.
  3. Melt the margarine with the milk and add to the mixture.
  4. Bake at 180 °C for 25–30 minutes.
  5. For the syrup: heat the water, sugar and margarine until dissolved, then add the lemon juice and zest.
  6. Pour the syrup over the warm baked cake.
