Ingredients
- Brown bread flour1.5 l
- Weet-Bix, crushed½ box
- Sugar375 ml
- Buttermilk500 ml
- Margarine500 ml
- Eggs3
- Brown vinegar10 ml
- Salt10 ml
- Baking powder25 ml
- Bicarbonate of soda10 ml
Method
- Crush the Weet-Bix and pour the buttermilk over to soften.
- Melt the margarine and sugar, and pour over the Weet-Bix.
- Mix in the flour, the well-beaten eggs and the other ingredients.
- Knead until smooth (±10–15 minutes).
- Bake at 160 °C for 55–60 minutes.
