Ingredients

Method

  1. Melt the margarine and syrup.
  2. Add the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Add the bicarb dissolved in the hot water.
  4. Press flat in a baking tray.
  5. Bake at 180 °C for 8–10 minutes.

Notes

The original calls for ½ lb (227 g) margarine, with a later note: reduce the margarine to 190 g.
