Ingredients

Method

  1. Place the fruit, sugar, butter, bicarb and spice in the water and boil gently for 25 minutes, stirring well.
  2. Remove from the heat and cool.
  3. Add the sifted flour and mix.
  4. Add the baking powder.
  5. Add the eggs and mix well.
  6. Pour into a lined cake tin.
  7. Bake for 1½ hours at 160 °C.
