Cheese and Onion Bread

Ingredients
- White onion soup powder1 packet
- Grated cheeseto taste
- Fresh onion, finely chopped (optional)a small amount
- Self-raising flour500 g
- Buttermilk500 ml
Method
- Fold all the ingredients together.
- Spoon into an oven loaf tin — do not press flat, leave it airy.
- Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake at 180 °C for 30–40 minutes.
Notes
If you can't get buttermilk, make your own: add 1–2 T (15–30 ml) white vinegar or lemon juice to 1 c (250 ml) milk, mix, and allow to stand for a while.
