Asparagus and Goat Cheese Puff Pastry Bites

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Roll out the pastry and cut into rectangles of about 2 × 4 cm. Score a border around each piece.
  3. Mix the goat cheese, milk (or cream) and lemon zest, and spread inside the borders.
  4. Top with the fresh asparagus pieces.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  6. Brush the edges with egg wash.
  7. Bake at 200 °C for 18–20 minutes.
  8. Optional: top with herbs and a drizzle of honey.

Notes

Optional extras: fresh thyme, chives, or a honey drizzle.
