Asparagus and Goat Cheese Puff Pastry Bites

Ingredients
- Puff pastry1 sheet
- Soft goat's cheese100 g
- Milk or cream15 ml
- Lemon zest2.5 ml
- Fresh asparagus spears, cut into 2-inch (5 cm) pieces8
- Olive oila drizzle
- Salt and pepperto taste
- Egg, for egg wash1
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Roll out the pastry and cut into rectangles of about 2 × 4 cm. Score a border around each piece.
- Mix the goat cheese, milk (or cream) and lemon zest, and spread inside the borders.
- Top with the fresh asparagus pieces.
- Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Brush the edges with egg wash.
- Bake at 200 °C for 18–20 minutes.
- Optional: top with herbs and a drizzle of honey.
Notes
Optional extras: fresh thyme, chives, or a honey drizzle.
